The FACTS project (Feel, Address, Contemplate, Talk, Share about sexual identity & gender: informed practices for Professionals working with autistic individuals) aims to create an educational guide on sexual issues of people with autism. The guide is addressed to professionals working with autistic population and aims to better educate and inform them.
More specifically, the guide will include information concerning:
- issues relating to the sexuality of autistic people
- addressing misconceptions and myths about the sexuality of autistic people
- information on stereotypes & gender issues involving roles & attitudes
- respecting and supporting autistic people's decisions
- awareness and understanding of issues such as sexual orientation, gender identity & gender expression
- enhancing the promotion of the sexual well-being of autistic people
